Informal quarters in a casual hotel with a coffee shop, Mediterranean dining & a poolside bar.
Excellent staff and location. A very beautiful classic hotel that is showing its age. It needs some serious renovation. Only one electrical outlet in the room for charging devices and it was not near the nightstands. The pool is “being repaired”. It has been drained and ignored for a while. There are no repairs taking place. The direct access to the Esplanade makes everything else tolerable.
This hotel is like my home. Every time I visit Iloilo I prefer to stay in Hotel Rio. Cleanliness , safety and efficient service I noticed that these are their priorities and the best every staff member and administrator treats you with kindness, respect and let you feel you are a family member. Had the best sleep in their laaaaarge comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was also superb with wide variety of Filipino dishes and Western food choices. The congee, ginisang amplaya, crispy dilis, tortang giniling, hot cocoa and nilagang saba at kamote are my favorite.
