My family stayed at the resort for 7 days. The Tropics is a beautiful resort, the design of the rooms to the pool is stunning. The food was delicious and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. A few areas to focus on for improvement was at breakfast multiple days we were not given water and there was no self serve water stations either at the buffet. It was truly one of the best experiences for me and my family. I attended a five-day workshop and stayed there for the entire duration. One of the highlights was jogging along the seawall—safe and free from motorists—which made the experience even more enjoyable. -No hot water in the showers or taps (luke warm at best) -WiFi is unreliable Excellent service, good food, and great pools. Tourists will want to be extra careful upon exiting the secured hotel area. For this reason and the other two above I just can't provide 5 stars.
The Tropics is previously The Oriental Hotel. It nice location with ample rooms and facilities that guest may enjoy. They have function rooms for MICE engagements from meeting rooms upto grandballroom type. They can house approximately 300 people comfortably. The dining experience is also exquisite. They also have Oasis Bar at night where you can do your night cap while enjoying the pool.
TRASH service. An hour for rice and nothing has come yet. Everything I ordered takes over an hour. Rooms are low quality. You get a key you leave in a power slot. That is something low quality hotels do. I have stayed at places in the Philippines that don't have that trash experience. I got the premium room and stuff is about to fall off like the mirror in the bathroom. The rooms need updating. The door doesn't open…
The hotel is very modern. Rooms are very spacious. Staff are friendly. General issues with internet but if you are here for a vacation it can also be a plus. Food selection has shifted to a more local palate and style. There are still some western options.
