The resort was good, but of course there's always rooms for improvement. Some of their lights aren't working anymore, the sockets are far from the bed, but it works if you don't need your phone near you. The beach is friendly but I don't recommend you visiting during monsoon season for the beach. I’ve visited San Jose four times for work travel in the last 18 months. Villa Paulina has been by far the best place the stay. The location is excellent, with a sea breeze and view making the mornings and evenings special. Particularly the staff here are excellent and go above and beyond to be welcoming and have made my stay enjoyable while I have been working. If you plan to stay in San Jose I recommend this hotel.
If you are traveling to San Jose there is a great little spot to stay and relax. Set within a peaceful courtyard right on the beach, Villa Paulina is a great home away from home. Over all the place was great. The location, the food, and the room. However, I have one problem with the bathroom. The bathtub doesn't seem functional, there were no shampoos, soap, or bathtub soap to be used. To add to that, the way the water drains is very slow, both on the sink and on the bathtub, there doesn't seem to be a warm water too. The shower heads, the bathtub, and the pipes is unclean.
