Dear Wife stayed here on our honeymoon back in 1989. We're still married. Our room number was 506. We did something there for the first time. It wasn't a game of parchesi or Chinese checkers.
I got it on a promotion so I got a room cheaper than their regular price. The place is strategically located because it is near the place I went. It's near the port as well so I didn't have trouble finding rides. It's also near the known tourist spot -- Magellan's Cross. The staff are friendly and accommodating. They provide basic orientations to their amenities. The building is quite old but still works fine.
You can't really expect much from an old hotel. It's one of the cheapest in the downtown area. If you're looking for an overnight stay in a budget hotel, this is it. You might want to bring your own towel if you've never liked to use hotel towels. This a dated but affordable works well especially if your on a budget. Dont expect too much As there is not much at the hotel itself, they do have strong wifi though. Our first room had a bad smell coming from the wet portion of the carpet near the toilet. The hotel itself is big and peaceful the breakfast area is at the hotel lobby. It has 24hrs of front desk service. It has an elevator which is convenient. Our room is located at the fourth floor it is spacious and there is a window, which is a personal preference. The shower at our room though is difficult to figure out. My wife and I recently spent seventeen days at the hotel. We were treated almost like royalty by the staff. Nothing was any trouble at all, from fixing our TV, extra pillows, room service, servicing the room. All was done very quickly with the minimum of fuss from the staff, all of whom treated us with the utmost courtesy from the concierge to the laundry girl. We will not hesitate to return on our next trip.
