Location wise, the hotel is in an incredible place - its literally right on the beach, and its paired with a great dive shop so it makes everything very easy. If you’re looking for termites in your room, being woken up at 3am, 4am, 5am, and 6am from clanking scuba tanks, and “live music” that booms right outside your door both Friday and Saturday nights until 11pm, you’ve come to the right place! The rooms are definitely more like 2–3 stars. There was no blanket provided, and the shower water pressure was very low. But overall, the food was not too bad — I’d give it 3 stars. Service-wise, I’d rate it 4 stars as the staff were quite helpful. Location is the best part — 5 stars, because it’s very near the boat area for heading out to dive.

We came here for dinner one evening - the service was fantastic and the food and drink too. We ordered the lemon fish, and chicken fajitas. We also got a chocolate shake (thick and creamy) and also the divers spritz cocktail - extremely strong hahah! Enjoyed our experience here on the beach. I had a great time at Hippocampus. The staff were courteous and responsive, especially Jocelyn and Shan Shan. The restaurant serves a good spread of food. My personal recommendation would be the fried calamari. Skip the panini and BLT though. Great selection of drinks available to pair with the fried chicken and calamari.
