I had a very disappointing experience during my recent stay. I previously stayed here in June 2025 and had a good experience, which is why I decided to book again for January 2025 during Sinulog. Unfortunately, this stay was completely different and not worth the price at all. I paid ₱1,688 for a mid room for 2 nights and the condition of the room and restroom did not match the rate especially during a peak season.…
Why stay here
Down-to-earth hostel featuring pared-down dormitories with bunk beds, plus an informal cafe.

This was my second stay here. My first stay was good, which is why I booked again, but the second stay was disappointing. The stay itself was just okay for two days. The bunk beds are comfortable, but the good for four room does not have full wall closure so noise easily carries from the next room, and there was also no water sometimes in the evening. What really frustrated me was the lower bunk bed issue. I specifi…
I paid 500 peso for one night for a 8 bed mixed dorm. The room was very small and floor space was limited as people naturally had their bags, shoes, and shopping goods on the floor by their beds. The bunk I was given did not have a ladder attached- I had to climb the next bunk’s ladder and make the small jump. That was fine as my stuff was in a locker- keys provided by staff. I paid a 500 peso deposit, which I got b…
I booked a private room at Happy Nest Hostel because I wanted to rest properly and get better sleep. I already knew the room had no windows and accepted that because the price was cheap. However, there was an extremely loud constant noise in the room, like a machine engine or industrial fridge running all night. A very small blanket for two people and towels with wholes. Unfortunately, it made it very difficult to s…
Okay hostel for the location. Cheap and affordable for being so close to the pier. Just 2 turns away from major roads. Bed is basic with a sheet and a coral fleece blanket. Bring your own towels. Provided basic toiletries good for overnight stay. With water dispenser at the ground floor with the restaurant and cafe. With options for breakfast, opens 6:30am anf closes at 9pm. There's a study area at the loft portion…
Location is great. Rooms are not so great though, seems like the beds were not cleaned, a hole on the wall in my bunk housed a cockroach. The smell of cockroaches and whatever it was kept me awake.
I’ve stayed here twice in the last couple of years. I didn’t have a negative experience that others claim to have had. They allowed me check in at 07:00am after a rough and uncomfortable overnight flight and let me sleep until about 12:30. It was a bit unclear which bed was mine at first but that was sorted right away. The staff were very polite and helpful. The bed was clean and comfortable with perfect temperature…
