During the Buglasan Festival 2025, I had the chance to stay at Golden Gate Suites, and it turned out to be a wonderful little find. Room described as with a window, (technically yes) but only in the shower room high up looking at external plumbing. On complaining, told i could change room with a 50% price increase. On arrival asked for 1,000 php deposit asked for receipt, but just given a slip of paper to present on leaving, but no amount written on it, on leaving i was only given 500 php, talking to other people it seems this is a common scam.
Had a pleasant stay at Golden Gate Suites! The location is perfect — close to everything in Dumaguete. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. Highly recommended for a budget-friendly stay. 🌸 Just a note: there’s no elevator, so if you’re staying on the third floor and have lots of luggage, be prepared to use the stairs.
They don't give blanket or quilt, which is so basic, even no tissue box in the room, you just have a thin cotton sheet for sleeping
Budget friendly hotel. In the same bldg is 7/11. The room is quiet and just enough. Has hot shower. Internet was also ok since I worked gor few hrs while I stayed here. The staff are accommodating.. Overall highly recommended
The location is just right, staff are very accomodating and well trained. Rooms are affordable, convenient since 7Eleven is just right below the hotel if ever uou need to grab something in the middle of the night.
